Out of all the rejections, this one's ambivalent. Help me out here, someone tell me what this means:
Thank you for your submission. Apologies for taking so long to get
back to you, but this is one of the busiest times of the year for us,
and with the great number of submissions that we've received this
season, we're experiencing a bit of a slow down.
In any event, I'm afraid that we will have to pass on your story at
this time. That is not to say it will may not be accepted in the
future, so I would like to encourage you continue to fine tune and
perhaps submit it in a year if you wish.
They said it would be 4-6 weeks for a notice and it's been 10 days so this is the fastest turn around time ever. Then there is the whole, "That is not to say it will may not be accepted in the future...' Did I have to much Saki tonight? P'raps that will make sense when I'm sober but at this minute ah donno what the heck it means.
That is the entire rejection letter so I'm not taking anything out of context. If it makes sense to you, please let me know. Are they busy and I should resubmit next year or is this an out and out rejection letter?
