Many years ago, back when we lived in Brooklyn, my father came home one day with a bunch of little plastic jars with screw on lids. He took the lids and mounted them to the bottom of a shelf in the workshop. He then filled the little jars with all the tiny things, washers, screws, nuts, bolts, bits of wire, string, and screwed the jars into the caps so they hung beneath the shelf.
I thought, how brilliant is this? It was so mad scientist! All the stuff that you usually searched for was right at your finger tips. The jars were clear so you could see what you were looking for.
Now, years later, as I'm organizing my workshop I think, yeah, that really was brilliant.
